ABOUT US

The Australian School Library Association (Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ) is the national authority and the peak forum in the field of teacher librarianship and school library resource services.

The Australian School Library Association Inc. (Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ) was founded in 1969.

Our aim is to foster stronger school libraries in order to equip students with the information literacy and critical thinking skills they need to be active participants in society. We do this through our commitment to:

  • Enhancing the professional expertise of school library staff by providing them with high-quality professional development opportunities
  • Building a strong and supportive school library community around Australia
  • Promoting the many benefits derived from the development of a love of reading
  • Being a strong and influential advocate for school libraries, both within schools and with external governing bodies
